Way too early NFL postseason predictions.

Speaker 1:

Just a statue. Johnson, eugene Warren, coming to you from lovely city of Atlanta, georgia and Eugene, the most glorious time of year has arrived. We have football and it's a very exciting time. So what we're going to do is we're going to jump in. As week one is already done here, let's go ahead and make our, our picks here. Yeah, the rest of the year, we're just going to jump it off here, even though we have like 17 more weeks to play here. Let's do it. I was like let's, let's do it, let's make him now.

Speaker 2:

I mean we, we got a little small sample size on Thursday, but I've made mine Thursday Like I picked. I did mine while, while I was watching that game. So that's, that's very interesting Really.

Speaker 1:

You picked them during. You picked them during the team's game. Yeah, yeah. I did them all there. What are your thoughts on?

Speaker 2:

the chiefs, the chief situation I'm missing.

Speaker 1:

Kelsey's would a little. Oh, that's hurting them, and Tori just just can't catch the ball.

Speaker 2:

That was just bad. Yeah, that's interesting because he's been. He's been on a few different teams.

Speaker 1:

I know the Giants fans were glad Kaderis is out of there, Right yeah, when they're watching that they're like we made the right move. We made it exactly.

Speaker 2:

So yeah.

Speaker 1:

I mean it's just kind of funny.

Speaker 2:

It's like I when I remember when Deodre Hopkins was, you know, when they were floating them out there when they're going to release them, I thought that would be the perfect spot for him, you know, because I was like I'm going to be, like, I'm going to be like, wow, that would be. I'm really really, really good, I'd like to go for it. Yeah, he looks like the one he'll puts up for me in that question and I'd like I'm, when he says, coach, worried, put in something in there and you tell him 10 opener, 10 mantra Dude. But I think I went down theただ line plays in a turn. I, I and first of all I mean anyone can switch to a player or origins we.

Speaker 1:

We've been doing a lots of football and Michelle他是 a pusher. Go through. We'll pick some playoff teams and we'll do. Let's do the vision first and then we'll go current. I guess, and then we can go all the way down to Super Bowl wins here on this first NFL show of the season. So what are your thoughts here? A lot of people respecting big things, man, I'm seeing a lot of double digit win projections for us this year. What are your thoughts on that?

Speaker 2:

I mean it's a good team. I mean, if you look from what we did on the free agency market for the defense, aside the ball, I like that, I like our team and I like our coach. I mean, if you look at our division, who we're gonna face? You're gonna face Rourke Courtebeck and then you have to and not only that when Carolina is Frank, is he a good coach? Has he proven he's a good coach? I haven't seen it. He's a good coordinator. Same thing with Tampa Bay. I mean, if you're rolling out Kyle Trask and Baker Mayfield, I'm definitely not scared of you. And Todd Bowles again, if he's coaching my defense great.

Speaker 2:

Todd Bowles all day long, but he's again he's not proven. He's a good coach. And then you've got Dennis Allen again good defense, but if you look at his record as a head coach, it's just it's bad. So I think we've got the better coach. I think we've got just the better players.

Speaker 2:

I mean, obviously it's still the question mark on Ritter on the quarterback side of it, but I mean everything else good line, good running backs, good receivers, good tight end, and we're not going to be the number one defense, but we're not going to be the last defense, or so I just think we're going to have to have those moments where we're going to have to have a stop, and I think that's the defense we have in place now Can get us to stop when we need to stop. Not going to stop, yeah, not going to stop everybody, but yeah, I see them going either 10 and seven or nine and eight.

Speaker 1:

I could see the seven and eight for Eugene, for the Fox, because they've got the schedule.

Speaker 2:

I mean they've got one of the easy schedules, like they're. I think I looked at their percentage was like a four 17 percentage. They're scheduled with the players, so I can easily see them going flip in the script and I know we're going to pick divisions. But I'm going to hunt. We can go ahead and do this now.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I was going to say we might as well go ahead and start in the south. Then you already read my mind, brother.

Speaker 2:

I'm already picking them the way in the division.

Speaker 1:

Okay, nfc South has been picked by Eugene for the Fox. You know what's interesting about that is that no love for Baker Mayfield. I take it on your on your side of things there, huh.

Speaker 2:

No, I think we know what he is now he's. He's perv into what he is. He's a backup quarterback. That's. That's what he is in his career now which is very interesting.

Speaker 1:

Only because, only because you know, I've crapped on Baker Mayfield a lot. So now I'm kind of like backing off cause I've crapped them on. I've crapped on him on this show, I've crapped on him on other shows.

Speaker 2:

It's really easy to do it's not hard Baker.

Speaker 1:

Mayfield, crapping on all over the place, that I'm going to back off that Cause I watch him come out and have a stellar year. Like I don't want it. I don't want that kind of situation, especially being that we're in using our division, of course.

Speaker 2:

I don't Right, right, right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, man, I'm really hoping that. I'm really hoping that we the. The nine and eight sounds good to me because we were better than expected last year. The double digit is what I'm hoping for. So let's go for my hopes for what we are and then what I think we are. I think we can get to nine and eight because we were better than expected last year. Yup Is adding some defensive players, and a player like Bijan Robbins are worth a couple of games, two or three games or something like that, here or there. I think so. Right, I think so.

Speaker 2:

Right. So I think we got the coaching advantage. I think we I know we weren't really happy about the coach, but I think I think we got the right coach in place. I think we I know we were all kind of wanting Bijan and me when he was, when he was available, but on the, I think he's like I said, I think we've got. I think we got the right coach in place now.

Speaker 1:

Interesting. I was hoping for Bijan, and me as well, but I think that once coaches get here you know I'm not a fan of firing coaches overnight, even whether I like the coach that a team gets or not I do believe that they should be allow some leeway because of the fact that you're dealing with another coach's decisions.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

A lot of times right and dealing with their players, their free agency signings and stuff like that. These aren't really your players, so give them a couple. Give them a couple of seasons so you can see what they can do.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

And another thing too, not not only that it's a situation where give them a couple of seasons because you don't want to good teams. When I look at good teams, they're not changing quarterbacks every year, right, they're keeping their or coaches. I'm sorry, they're keeping their coaches every quarterbacks too, but they're keeping their coaches. So I'm a fan of coaches staying around. So I do hope, and it's my home team, so of course, I hope that they do well.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Let's look at. So we got Falcons for NFC South right Yep Falcons.

Speaker 2:

We're going home or pick all the way. Nfc South how home? Or pick all the way? Yeah, and you?

Speaker 1:

know what's interesting Is a long term I guess we'll see with the Saints only teams I'm really worried about our division would be teams like the Saints in the pants only because we don't know what they're going to do. I don't when you have a rookie at quarterback and Derek Karr is coming into the Saints, so that's an an upgrade, I mean, to their quarterback situation. This, you, unless you just really love Andy Dalton, it's an upgrade to their quarterback situation there. It's no knock on any dog.

Speaker 1:

They're red, the red rifle. Give you a couple 300 yard games man a year right.

Speaker 1:

So so that's kind of like my situation there. I just don't know. I Just don't know what the other teams have, so I don't want to like discount that, I don't want to say, hey, well, you know, I feel that will be this or will be that what, without really knowing. Having more tape on the kid Bryce, young yep in North Carolina, and then seeing what Derek R does I'm a Derek car fan man, so Pure Homer pick here in FC South. Now let's go to. Let's just stay in NFC, let's go in FC North.

Speaker 2:

Sure, sure who who are you feeling there? I I mean, I just think I have to pick the, the Lions I had him pick before the really interesting huh. I like their offense, obviously. I mean I like, I like the Montgomery, I like the Gibbs pick their defense, I mean they played better than expected. Now, obviously, no Kelsey against Kansas City, right, I just, I like their office and that matters, as, as we see, yes as it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2:

So Just from what? Just just just that small sample size? Yeah, I, I mean, they were just there, like the hottest team, obviously, last year, coming down the stretch. That was a great. You know, they wouldn't agree baby Karim Bay Towards the end there. So, but yeah, I'm, I'm picking Detroit, detroit where Eugene Okay?

Speaker 2:

I just don't believe. I like they have many games that they win by one score. Last year I was it. I think they were like the number one team, no, the ones to be games by one score. I just I just don't see that happening again. They just don't know. I, kurt Cousins, I he's gonna be steady Kurt, but I just, yeah, I just I don't think they're gonna be a pull off, that off again.

Speaker 1:

That is very interesting and I'm gonna go with yeah, it's interesting, eugene because I really want to very badly. I Really want to go for Detroit here because only because of how snake bitten that franchise has been. You know how sometimes you root for a franchise yes and so like inadequate, and I would tell you, if you're a Detroit fan, you got something to cheer about this year like this. This could be a real team. This is um, and I genuinely believe that. I genuinely believe Detroit's a real team. I like the defense, I like what Campbell has done since he's been there. I think Jericho off as an underrated player. So I really do. I like Detroit. It's.

Speaker 2:

There are you a race.

Speaker 1:

For me, this is to me and the Vikings I mean the train the Vikings. That's that's where I'm at here.

Speaker 2:

I'm looking at the Vikings, I'm looking at Detroit and it's like a two-way race for me and they're very All right both, both offensive heavily teams, right, not I mean they've got their defense Like I would give a slight edge to Detroit just because they've got the younger talent there. But right, offensively, got good running backs, got good Receivers, obviously they probably have the longest you've like is how probably the best receiver You're gonna. But yeah, I, yeah, I struggled that one. And then I know the other sexy pick everyone's been picking his Green Bay. I just couldn't get there. I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 1:

How do you make that pick? How do you? How? The Bears are way sexier than then green? Yeah, like, how do you? Justin Fields could take that turn, right? Yeah, no, justin feels not gonna take a turn. Justin Fields could take a turn and they got DJ Moore there. You don't ever know if you'll have a situation when you'll have DJ Moore Do the same thing for Justin Fields that AJ Brown did for Jalen Hertz. Yeah, let's not forget, aj Brown did a lot for for Jalen, right? Yeah, so maybe that was a missing piece. I don't know. Maybe that was a missing piece, I don't. I Want to believe that. So so bad, and that will make this division so much. Now, if Jordan love ends up becoming a player, this division becomes very interesting. Right, we're gonna have a very interesting division if Jordan love ends up becoming a guy that can play. So I'm not saying Jordan love can't, I just don't know, I'm not, I can't get there with him now because I Literally just do not know.

Speaker 2:

Yep.

Speaker 1:

I'm right there with you. Let's go, for I'ma go with you with Detroit here, I guess man okay. I guess I'll stay with Detroit here. I'll stay with Detroit here. So we both pick in Detroit for the division here for the NFC north. All right, let's talk the NFC east, which used to be the least. It's not the least, no more.

Speaker 2:

No, no, some real, real teams in this division.

Speaker 1:

What are your thoughts?

Speaker 2:

Easy. I mean I just I just looking at Philly, I mean they were the one back again going back again. I just I can't go, I can't pick against them again.

Speaker 1:

They got.

Speaker 2:

I guess they get again. Got smarter on the with running backs they got a bunch of good talent on the run back side. Obviously we know the defense they pretty much. If you're wondering where every Georgia defensive player went to, is they pretty much just turned from red jerseys To helmets, the green jerseys and green helmets. So that's where the so it's funny. Yeah again, I just, I just so impressed with Jalen and and you know, they're just, they're just. That's a smart, smart run of organization. I just can't, I can't pick against them.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so Philly there, man. I just might be a boring show if we keep picking the same teams here, man, because I Think it'd be interesting.

Speaker 2:

I think we'll get interesting for our wildcard teams because I've got some. I got some surprises on that side of it.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so I like the Eagles here, but this is a division that if somehow ends up being a guy of similar to the Jordan love situation, that becomes very interesting because Daniel Jones, if he can take that turn which some people feel like he'll take because he has Waller there now- yeah we will feel like he and they feel like he's been increasing in the course of sake. One is playing, they're a formidable team, so we we have Opportunities there for them. Somehow, if he becomes a guy, washington becomes super interesting.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yes, if he becomes a guy. Right, it's interesting, dallas is always there. Dallas, is that that team that's always in the mix? Right, they're always in the mix and you never, you never know. Cd Lam is always formidable guy to have having your team. Yeah, they're always in the mix. I will take. I Think I'm gonna. It's gonna have to be Eagles here only because they haven't done anything to lose the benefit of the doubt right.

Speaker 1:

Right, you know. You know what I mean. I haven't made any moves where you're like, oh well, they, this is gonna hurt the team type situation. You know what I mean.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, maybe they might take a step back defensively, because they lost a lot of defense aside, but they just replace it with younger guys. So it's gonna you're gonna have those growing pains, but I just, I mean, you can't get it. Their offense who's stopping it? Offense? I mean honestly, who's stopping those guys?

Speaker 1:

It's true. So we're gonna go Eagles. So so far, falcons for the South, detroit for the North, eagles for NFC East. Let's go NFC West, which is looking horrible, only because I don't know what the Rams are gonna do, I don't know what Cardinals are gonna do, and we have San Francisco and pretty much Seattle. I'm looking at two teams in this division. Yeah, what are your thoughts on this?

Speaker 2:

I wanted to pick Seattle so bad.

Speaker 1:

I really do. Why is that? Is that like a Geno Smith type situation you?

Speaker 2:

know. And the receivers I like their draft, I like the they got. They got just more vertical on the on their draft for the receiver side of it. But I can't get there with the defense. Their defense is not to the 49ers Because let's just, I mean just with both side obviously coming back, I just it was hard for me to pick Against the Niners of that defense and they just and their weapons. Let's just, they got McCathie, they got then they get ready now you, because they've got you know they just have more weapons.

Speaker 2:

You know, like I said, if pretty doesn't Only think pretty has to do is he'd be steady, eddie, he doesn't have to be a superstar, oh so. And and if he goes a couple three and outs, oh well, they've got probably probably the best defense. I mean, if you're gonna, if not Pittsburgh, right there, right One a, maybe one B, but gosh, I wanted to get there but I had a big Sam. I had to be go chalk and pick San Francisco.

Speaker 2:

I just can't you know we were at the birdies party train all all year. I'm just gonna keep running it in.

Speaker 1:

I'm gonna go with the same reason here that I went with the NFC East that the Niners haven't done anything to lose. The benefited it out here like they. They Pretty much returning most of the same guys right, like the yeah guys they had. Yeah, that should have made a run. So it's hard for me then to go around and just pick against that. So I'm gonna stay there with them as well.

Speaker 2:

And you have the cafe the whole year. You know I mean that that's get hurt. And and then you and we know the Rams and the Cardinals. I think I just gonna be just bad teams the whole year. I don't. I don't see anything different there.

Speaker 1:

Not seeing great things from them, I take it huh.

Speaker 2:

No, I think I could see them being sellers at the trade deadline. Let's just okay, yeah, but hey, that was the, that was the price, right they got. They won the one-stop ball. So that's what you. You've paid the price.

Speaker 1:

So let's go AFC South here and let's start. We have all your jacks.

Speaker 2:

Do we want to do a? Oh, we're gonna do the picks and wall cards after that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we're gonna do. We'll go by division, then we'll do wall cards and kind of work our way up to the Super Bowl here okay.

Speaker 1:

So AFC South, we have Titans, jags, texans this is a gross division but and Colts. But the thing is, is it gross if the kid, anthony Richardson, ends up being a player? Yeah, it's not gonna be as gross, right? Right? Yeah, I love Trevor Lawrence. If Derek Henry has something left in the tank, this division becomes somewhat competitive, doesn't it? And and we're leaving out CJ Stroud taking any kind of Strikes here as as the season goes on. So what are your thoughts on that?

Speaker 2:

So I'm gonna I mean, I was gonna pick Jacksonville, but I don't know, just something.

Speaker 1:

You'll remember that name, yeah, when they were sax. They haven't been, but that name was there.

Speaker 2:

You know, I think I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go different here, because I know Jacksonville's been everyone's. I'm just gonna pick, I'm gonna pick Tennessee.

Speaker 1:

Interesting. I'd, like you, believe in King Henry.

Speaker 2:

Still, huh I still believe in Henry Tannehill and and Grable I. If you're looking at coaches in the league, I think you know he's got rookie. He's going against a rookie head coach in Houston Peterson's. He's great, he's good coach. But Grable man just out that game last year in Kansas City he had nobody, but it was a.

Speaker 2:

Malik Willis was starting and that he played. That was the toughest game. I think that Kansas City probably have to play and they almost won that game. So, and I just think Tannehill has something left, I think I think they want to prove something and I I don't know something, I just couldn't count them out. So I just, and I wanted to go different. I mean, knowing is so go, and I'm gonna be surprised that Jacksonville pulls it off. No, but I just want to go. Yeah, I think Tennessee could do it. They've got, like I said, they they're just such a Smart teams and I just that was my, that was my pick for that one. I just I really think After last year, they really want to prove something. You know you make some good signings on the offseason, had a pretty good draft, but yeah, I think they could do it Okay okay, I'm gonna go Jags here, because it just seems like the obvious answer.

Speaker 1:

Like you just said, yeah, I will add something to this because you know we, these are our way early picks. This is something I will add to this. If the K Anthony Richardson takes a, they takes a turn. I believe the Colts could be something. The only interesting about them is the players surrounding him. You know, and and I'm banking on if JT returns or something like that as well right, so it's not just JT has to return and I don't know it ended up being player. But I think just for well-rounded, if I look at a team in this totality that I like, I just like Jacksonville and I think that's just because, if it was a pick them between because I don't know, stroud the question mark, so I can't. I can't put a question mark in here right now, but I can say that. But with the Jags and the Titans, yeah, I'm just separating the quarterbacks there. I just like Trevor Lawrence more than I like Tana Hill.

Speaker 2:

Daniel Richardson's rookie Richie and his distraught rookie as well.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, the best quarterback is kind of where I'm going here. Yeah, or that, that division. Let's go FC North More, much more competitive, at least on paper division, right? Your thoughts on that?

Speaker 2:

we have Steelers. Yes, man, you know what?

Speaker 1:

you stole my pick. You already know I can't pick. I couldn't pick again for me, man. I love stars.

Speaker 2:

I just I don't you know. I just again look at, look at, pick it how he again he was another guy that's her in the corner. Last year, right, they were like that, 72 in the last nine games, something crazy like that. He's looking comfortable, you know. It got again. Got a good defense picked up, a I mean picked up a really good running back in the draft. Who could, yeah, be better than Najee, more than you two-headed monster as well? But I just love that defense and I love you know, I love that. And what really got me fired up was was your coach's quote about preseason. Did you hear his quote?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, man, yeah, man can learn the box without sparring, something like that, something like that something I was like you can't win box.

Speaker 2:

You can't win a boxing match without sparring first.

Speaker 1:

I was like okay, that's that is it.

Speaker 2:

I am picking you and again, I just I don't, I don't believe in the Sean I Um says that he Don't believe.

Speaker 1:

I know I don't I don't think.

Speaker 2:

I just think it's. I just I think the karma police. I didn't think it's gonna I get. I stood. Cleveland has a good team. I know some people are picking them.

Speaker 2:

I just I know I can't get past the whole use like the worst passing quarterback last year, the worst, okay, you know, bum. And then Baltimore. I like I like to Like muckin, I like you know I love them are Um, I wasn't, I'm not a, I think OBJ, I think it's I. It'd be tough from the comeback from that leg you did that, that ACL injury, so but and I think it's gonna be.

Speaker 2:

Well, I'll be like spoiler is gonna be on my wild cartes. I just I know, you know, I think at some point burr is gonna miss a couple, to you know a few games, because he kind of does every year. So I think that'll kind of put them out there as a division winner.

Speaker 1:

But I again, I think they're gonna get, they'll get the playoffs still Now that's interesting.

Speaker 1:

Um, because I'm not gonna go get the Steelers and I will definitely tell the audience here that this is a Homer pick. This is I. I just love the Steelers. It's, it's Falcon Steelers for anybody. Listen to the show for any amount of time. It's Falcon Steelers for me. Yeah, um, one and one a. I love both of these franchises. Um, and you're, I don't know if you'll ever see me pick against the Steelers. Just spoiler alert I don't think you'll ever see me pick against the Steelers, but, um, it's a good team as well, so I'm not just Talking out of my behind here, like it's a good team.

Speaker 1:

We got a good squad.

Speaker 2:

I think we put a serviceable product on the field every year yeah in my opinion of some sort.

Speaker 1:

You might not look nice all the time. And if Kenny Pickett takes that, if Kenny Pickett takes a um, takes a leap here, then I think we're gonna have a good team. Yeah, deep into all the way out, right, that's where we're waiting for it.

Speaker 2:

Pickett to Pickett is what we want to see.

Speaker 1:

That pick it to pickings connection right. Yes, we're looking for all the time.

Speaker 2:

Yes, so that's what I'm. That's what I'm hoping for there.

Speaker 1:

Now, the thing is about this division is anybody could win it, eugene. When I look at this division, yes, quite open bro. Like yeah, this is a division that Any of these teams could win. This division, the Browns would be the most surprised to me. If I'm going in order, I would go Steelers, bengals, ravens, browns if I'm going in order, but the Steelers, bengals, ravens are all 1a, 1b, 1c, like.

Speaker 2:

I.

Speaker 1:

There's no shock to get to the end of the year and see any of these teams at the top of this division now. The Browns would be a little bit of a shock to me, but but not crazy, I love. I do love Nick Chubb so, and they got a good matter of just saying right, gotta get defense and and and if you know if the Sean could get back To worry.

Speaker 2:

It was a few years ago Then. Yes, they're right there, but I mean he just hasn't again. We know, we know the situation come in, you know, part of the season so it's tough, so you know, right, kind of like the same desperate this conversation we were having. You know, he had to come in four games and we didn't really get to sample size. Same thing with the Sean. The thing was, the Sean is, he's, he's been, he was proven before. So I think that's where the scare is. It's like, okay, is this a step back? Is he stepping back or was this just a? Hey, what just was forced in? Wasn't able to work with the offense because he was suspended, can't, couldn't really be in, you know, with with the team. So Right, they need him to, by the way to, to be that guy for all the mountain money.

Speaker 1:

They paid him, right, a lot of money. They paid him. They really need him to be that guy. Um, okay, so still just for afc north. Let's go afc east with the dolphins, the patriots, the jets and the bills. You know what's interesting about the afc east is this used to be a no-brainer bill of Patriots Division. Right, and no brainer Patriots division when Tom was here. Um, a little bit more thought put to it now.

Speaker 1:

This is another division, man, it's pretty stout, um, with it being kind of opposite now, with the Patriots being like the fourth of this Division. If I'm looking at it, yeah, I'm just going from quarterback play, right, so for one two, it has to stay healthy. That's a big if for Miami. But if he does, he's shown he can, he can put those numbers up if he's, if he's out there. So don't, I wouldn't disrespect. I'm not gonna disrespect him because he's showing me he can put the numbers up if he's out there. Yep, um, buffalo, what word can we say about buffalo? It's a stout team. They have great skill positions, great defense it's.

Speaker 2:

But do they? If you look at what, what other other than skill, other than alan and digs, who else are they? I think gay davis is respectable.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, respectable, like he can, he's now, when you go for gay davis, from our fantasy standpoint, he's gonna drive you crazy. Oh, but yeah, but they're gonna drive you crazy.

Speaker 1:

He's gonna drive you crazy, bro, because he'll have a complete bus game and he'll have a great game and then a bus game and then a great game, then a bus game and then a great game. So that will definitely drive you crazy. But at the same time, I do think that, uh, you got to respect it. Yeah, you got to respect them. You know, you can't just let them run free out there, right? So I like that. And josh allen's gonna cover up a lot of uh, he's gonna be a band-aid cover up a lot for them. Yep, he's gonna be a band-aid cover up a lot for them, yep. So I would probably lean on the bills here. But the jets, the jets man, you. One of the things that's interesting about the jets is you only had to watch the quarterback play here because, they were excellent everywhere, except everywhere else.

Speaker 2:

It's the opposite of Minnesota, right, because Minnesota one. Some of those one score games. And how many one score games did the Jets lose last year? You said I'm like you call it every game. Yes, exactly yeah.

Speaker 1:

Do you think Aaron Rodgers can turn that around? Man, you can turn that around for them Again. Aaron Rodgers comes in, and now they're not as pitiful on offense as they've been up to this point, right. So that's going to be a hard one for me. I'll let you make your pick there first and let me look here.

Speaker 2:

I'm going, I'm going Miami again Interesting, so you're trusting to to a health I mean, I not. Yeah, well, here's the thing to have to they have to really, yeah, you can't be right. So I've got to trust this health and I do like. I do like Mike White as a backup. I think they improve there. Interesting, yeah, yeah, they get approved there. They got Nick Fangio Again another another guy. I think he's a better as a coordinator versus head coach as their defensive coordinator and they and they upgraded on the defensive side.

Speaker 2:

You know, they know Rams will be back at some point. So they're, they're, they're, they're going to be stronger defensively. They're not. You know, again, they, they were approved on that side of the ball. I think the running back is still kind of the spot that they don't even. But I mean, if you guys are a killer and waddle, you can kind of what?

Speaker 1:

if they get that JT deal done, then I'm a love them, yeah, love them. If they get that JT deal done, yeah they're. I don't know if they're going to, but if they do, I feel very good about that. They're actually able to make that happen.

Speaker 2:

That'd be great, I think, if they can get him and then yes, then that, then I really feel great about my pick again. So he's on the lease on the injured, the pitchman, the injured reserve, so he can't play till four, week four. But yeah, I'm with you if they can get JT. That's just, that's a wide open big thing. They can take it.

Speaker 1:

I would love to pick Miami because to a roll tide, I would love to have or love the room for my guy, but it's just I can't. I can't trust that he's going to stay on the field. Man, I don't see no indicator that he's going to be able to stick around.

Speaker 2:

So you're not leaving the juiciness to that he.

Speaker 1:

That's like James Winston and his LASIK. Remember that last year oh, he came in and it's all better now.

Speaker 2:

I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I don't know if you could. I don't know, I don't know about if you could pick up habits that now, like you know, now I know I'm playing jazz at night. Now I feel like I can hop on that field and I'm calmer now I'm in the pocket. It doesn't, nothing matters. I I'm going to go with the bills here, but this is not a love pick. I don't love this pick. So some picks I can pick and say I really love this pick. And here I'm going to say I don't love this pick. And the reason I don't love this pick is because I don't know what the jet are going to be. Yeah, so my, I will actually put dolphins third here, because I don't know what the jets are going to be. My pick would be the bills, but zero surprise at the jets, if that makes sense, because I don't know. I just don't know. You know what I mean. I need to see, I need to see it. I need to see Aaron Rodgers go out there and get a feel for for it for the first month or so, yeah, and see how the team's acclimating and everything like that, and and and try to get a feel for things. Right. So I'm going to go bills here, but I don't love that because it could be jets, in my opinion as well.

Speaker 1:

So last one is AFC West. Who do we have here? Broncos, right. This is another. That's not really gross because I like the chiefs and the chargers here, and if Russell takes a turn, this becomes an interesting division. I don't know about the. I mean, jimmy G just has to stay upright Very similar to a, to a situation. I love his skill positions there. He's got Josh Jacob, the frontier Adams. I like the skill positions. I just don't know if Jimmy G can stay on the field for more than like eight games or so, right, right. So I will make my pick here with AFC West. Let's just go in and go with the chiefs, right? Why? Why would you not pick the chiefs, even though they lost their first game? I can't not pick the chiefs. You know what I mean?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and then if you look at the I mean if you look at the loss to you, can you can poke holes in the loss like the. The pick six wasn't on my homes, it was on the.

Speaker 1:

And no Kelsey as well. No, kelsey, missing one of your best skill players. Right, he's still only lost by one.

Speaker 2:

Right, and you could see this team either trading for a receiver, you know, before the run for that line, or picking up somebody. Yeah, they'll find somebody, they always find somebody. They're just one of those teams you can't pick, you can't pick against. And also, the charger did nothing different. They did nothing different now season. They just changed their office as a coordinator. They didn't add to the team, they didn't. I don't think they had enough for you. Huh, no, no. So I'm right there with you and then and then again, until you beat my homes and then in the division, I'm not picking against them Same.

Speaker 1:

So that's easy there. Let's go wildcard. Where are we going here For AFC? How many wildcard teams do we need for each one? You got three we need three wildcards for for NFC, three wildcards for AFC, yep. So I'm going. Where are we going?

Speaker 2:

Cincinnati, the Jets. Ok, my third is I really want to pick. I'm going to pick Baltimore. I think they're going to be able to Interesting, so I'm going on there.

Speaker 1:

So Cincinnati Jets, baltimore. Ok, you love that AFC North? I see I do. You love that AFC North? I? I'm going to have a hard time arguing with with this because some of these picks were like, right, there are the guys I didn't. So I took the Steelers. Do I believe Cincinnati and Baltimore could be there when I picked them one A, b and C? Of course I do. Right, yeah, like it's consistent. Thought there, like if I believe that they were like so close and jumbled up right there.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Um, but could the charges sneak in there? Could we see a team like the jets I gotta put in there because I had them right behind Buffalo. So the jets, I'm with you there, I gotta put them in there because they're right behind Buffalo. I don't really trust the AFC South Can't really do that right now, no, no, no.

Speaker 2:

I can't get in the walk area of that team. That's division. It's going to be, like you said, either Jacksonville or Tennessee's winning that division and everybody else is going to be just playing for draft picks or draft order.

Speaker 1:

I am going to Cincinnati, jets, baltimore. I just can't argue with that, not at this point. And so because these are so early that we're doing a lot based on what happened last year and kind of stuff like that, they're so early.

Speaker 2:

I mean I wanted to put charges in there, but again they did nothing. I mean they added the um, the LDP office coordinator from Dallas. I like that, but that's it. That's the only different thing. That's the only thing they did. They didn't add a. I just don't think Herbert Herbert's good. He just has to have. They need more, like a vertical receiver, like if they would add, if they would add DeAndre Hopkins, I could probably get there. You know, get, get in their vertical receiver. You know, get somebody else in there, cause each year those two guys are they're two top guys are going to get injured. Who did you say you drafted? Was it Mike Williams or is it Keenan Allen? Doesn't matter, they're either way.

Speaker 1:

If you want to have Mike Williams at Mike.

Speaker 2:

Williams, doesn't matter. Do you have either one of the guys on your?

Speaker 1:

on your fantasy.

Speaker 2:

They're getting injured. So just just back, make sure you have a good backup If you, if you draft for you the one of those guys.

Speaker 1:

Okay. So I'm not going to argue with that. But I can say wouldn't surprise me if the chargers get in there. Um, charges, wouldn't surprise me if they get in there. Miami maybe, if, if those rankings end up kind of going backwards, I say we end up the jets end up being first, or you know what I mean. I, I could see some of these teams sneaking in there, but I'm not going to argue with Cincinnati jets or or Baltimore. Baltimore is my only question mark there because of Lamar's health. He hasn't finished any of the last two seasons. Yeah, yeah. So that's concerning for me and if I had to switch out Baltimore, then I would definitely put in like the chargers or something, Cause I just I just love Justin Herbert, so I'll put them in there. Um, let's go in. That was the AFC, right. Let's go in. Let's see NFC wildcard. Where are you at here with that?

Speaker 2:

Uh, seattle definitely. Um, and I went giants and then I went green Bay.

Speaker 1:

Seattle giants green Bay, green Bay, huh. So yeah, we're definitely going to differ here.

Speaker 2:

Uh yeah, I'm drinking a little bit of the Kool-Aid for Jordan.

Speaker 1:

Jordan love Kulu yeah.

Speaker 2:

I'm drinking. I didn't fully go in because I know there's a lot of people picking divisions. So I figured, if I pick a wildcard, I'm like, I'm like I'm going to cap it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, right, right, and um, uh, man, I would go. If I'm going to go from that division to be Chicago for sure, but I think I'm going to go. Let's go Cowboys, cause we picked the Eagles there, right, yeah, let's go Cowboys Um Minnesota and Chicago.

Speaker 1:

Oh you're, you're back in Jordan, justin Fields huh, I just feel like if I'm going to at this very early stage in Chicago, it's interchangeable with, like, the giants by the way, that they're interchangeable in that spot, like neither one of those would surprise me. But yeah, man, I mean what I'm looking here. Yeah, I could see that. I mean it's, it's not, it's not crazy.

Speaker 1:

Um, no, it's not, it's a wild car situation, because the giants I could see sneaking in there. I don't really trust a lot of these other teams. Um, I want to see. I don't know if that's going to. I don't know if it's going to, but I would like it to you know, like it to, to, to work out.

Speaker 1:

Who just knows if it's going to work out, um, okay, so yes, that's what I'm going to do. Those are the teams I'm going to go with. Let me write my teams down. This Eugene's teams here. I'm going to go Chicago. I'm going to go forgot, my teams at fast man, chicago Cowboys, and I went Chicago Cowboys. I went Vikings, but, um, the giants are my honorable mention there, one that wouldn't surprise me if they snuck in there.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, all right, there's always that one team we.

Speaker 1:

there's always that one team we miss every year, Like you're trying to figure this out after one week of football, like you got like seen more weeks and you don't even know who's going to be on these teams. True 17 weeks. It's very hard to do, but these are just kind of based on where they have been and where they've been trending. So we're down to where your Super Bowl teams oh, Super Bowl.

Speaker 2:

It's going to be San Francisco versus the Cincinnati Bengals 49ers and the Bengals. I wanted to pick Philadelphia, but there's been, I think since what the history league there's been? No a loser has never come back. The Super Losers have never come back to the next year.

Speaker 1:

Dropping some stash there. Huh yeah, dropping some stash there. Okay, so let me look here. Because I wanted to go rematch, for the same reason that I said before, because you know, when my dreams were ball Falcon Steelers, of course, double overtime, coming down to maybe Falcons winning by one point. That's my dream scenario, which I don't know.

Speaker 1:

If I'm going to see that this year, I, if I'm being consistent with what I've said before, then I would have to go back with the Eagles and the Chiefs only because, if I'm saying consistently that that neither team has done anything to like prove that wrong, like they've done nothing to for me to take the benefit of the doubt away from them, then I kind of would have to have that Eagles and Chiefs back in there. But let's, you're, that Eagle stat scares me, that Eagle stat scares me and I guess, man do, I want to. I can't put Detroit in a Super Bowl, can I? I can't do that. Can't put Detroit in a Super Bowl, man. So Chiefs for sure, okay, because they, that's just.

Speaker 1:

Why not? Why not? I can't, I can't not put the Chiefs in there Now, which is a matter of choosing, like an NFC team right Now. It's a matter of choosing, like who is my NFC team going to be? I am going to say I am going to say, let's do yeah, I guess I gotta run it back, man let's just do the Eagles again, because until I see something and we'll get some more games and of course it's a bit of just as time goes on but I got to see them fall off and I think they made additions to their team. So I would feel less comfortable, feel choosing the Eagles if they didn't make those additions to their defense, if they didn't have the drafts. You know what I mean? Like if they didn't, if they weren't better at all, then I would feel better not choosing them.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

But as I look at the NFC as a whole, who's better than them? Like when I look at it at this snapshot yeah, very early point in the season, I mean.

Speaker 2:

I think you can say it's a 49ers, but if you have to go quarterback versus quarterback, I'm definitely picking Hertz over Purdy.

Speaker 1:

Right, and a 49ers no disrespect, can can be it. Let's not get this twisted. Oh, 49ers can be it. There's not that. That's like one and one a there for my NFC teams. 49ers could be it there. So I'm going to go rematch on a Super Bowl and I'm going to say this time the Eagles get it done, what are your, what's your pick there?

Speaker 2:

I'm going to burrow Cincinnati. I think I'm picking them right now.

Speaker 1:

Not not not a bad pick at all. No, I love me some Joe Burrow man.

Speaker 2:

I think this is kind of their last year, because I mean they've already talked about, you know, maybe not be able to resign Tiggins, so they might have to start making some financial decisions you know, right. So I think this has got to be the year and I think this is a they got. They got a good well coach team, great defense, I mean good defense and of course, I just got probably the best receivers.

Speaker 1:

I got a. I got a. I don't have any issue with that. With Chase Higgins Burrow there. Yeah, I have. No, I have. Zero is nothing I can say about that at all. I can't crap on that pick. So this is our way. Too early in that pal show. We're going to probably have some more picks and of course, things will change. But the most glorious thing, the biggest takeaway the audience can take away from this show, is that football is back. It's back and we have football for the next few months here.
